The Salzburger Almenweg makes hiking easy: The hiking bus conveniently reaches starting points that are often inaccessible by car. This shortens the climb, allowing even leisurely hikers to reach attractive destinations.

After a relaxing break, you can return to the Seitenalm with renewed energy and a rucksack packed full of happy emotions!

The Sky Walk

You should have a head for heights, as this trail is a real thrill. The 250 metre vertical rock face of the Hunerkogel is right below your feet. It will get your adrenaline flowing.

In Hüttau / Larzenbach

Copper mine

Copper was mined in Hüttau / Larzenbach from the 13th century until 1869. The municipality name of “Hüttau” comes from copper smelting. The disused mine was reclaimed at the end of the 20th century and is now operated as a medieval show mine. Visit the Hüttau copper mine with the most beautiful ore vein in Austria, learn interesting facts about the miners, the use of copper then and now and much more.

In the Gewerkenhaus, the municipal office in the centre of Hüttau, you can visit the “Ore, gold and minerals” museum with its unique exhibits.

Salt mine in Hallein

The salt mines at Dürnberg near Hallein are the tunnels of wealth for the city and province of Salzburg. In the world’s oldest exhibition mine, you can learn about the 2,500-year old history of white gold.

Discover the mysterious world of the miners who carved kilometres of tunnel labyrinths into the mountain with their hands. Today, visitors of all ages can experience adventure, knowledge and fun first-hand. The salt mine is open all year round and in any weather.

Night watchmen

Night watchmen in Radstadt – take a stroll through the Middle Ages. There are many traces of history in Radstadt that can be discovered between old town walls, churches, tombs and monasteries. Visitors can experience a hint of this past when they are “on tour” with the Radstadt night watchmen.

Paul Hofhaimer Days

Since 1987, the “Paul Hofhaimer Days” have taken place once a week in June. It is a festival for early and contemporary music. The event aims to keep Paul Hofhaimer's legacy alive in Radstadt through playing old and contemporary music and singing sacred songs.

Museums in Radstadt

In the “Lerchen Castle” local history museum, the history of the local area is brought back to life. In the capuchin tower you can learn about the farming middle classes. You can admire tools from bygone days and kitchen devices. A highlight is the Krampus masks on display. The handmade wooden works of art can be seen at the start of the advent period during traditional Krampus processions.

Cycle marathon

Radstadt Amadé Cycle Marathon – every year in May. With a distance of 98 and 176 kilometres, the legendary cycle marathon is a great challenge for both experienced cyclists and marathon beginners.

Experience Salzburg

Handicraft market

  • Handicrafts - traditional and contemporary
  • Handicrafts - craftsmanship and art

This is the motto of the annual handicrafts market held on the first weekend in September on Radstadt's town square and in the surrounding streets, whatever the weather.

Farmers’ market

Radstadt business people and craftsmen from the region present and sell their own locally produced goods. And there are, of course, also music and delicacies made from delicious regional farm produce.

Open air cinema

Weekly open air cinema screenings of the latest films take place in the lovely inner courtyard of the court in Radstadt.

Morning drinks on the summit

Takes place every Sunday in the Radstadt chalet with live music.

Old timer tractor meeting

In July, tractor enthusiasts get together for a ride on Radstadt's local mountain - the Rossbrand. You can admire the tractors when they are displayed on the town square in Radstadt.

Midsummer bonfire

In June, the Midsummer bonfire is lit on the surrounding mountain summits.

Children’s festival

Every 2 years, the "mega children’s festival" takes place throughout the centre of Radstadt. Many fun attractions and games await your family.

Dumpling festival

Every summer - on the last weekend in July - the 8 landlords of the Schernbergstrasse in Radstadt invite you to enjoy the traditional dumpling festival within the walls of the historic mountain town. The selection is large and there are around 20 different varieties on offer - from smoked meat, greave and liver dumplings to various fruit dumplings, ice cream and marzipan dumplings. There is, of course, also musical accompaniment during the event.

Guards’ festival

The Radstadt citizen guards invite all guests and locals to the annual guards’ festival on the 1st weekend in August. From Friday to Sunday, you can enjoy the live music and famous dance in the marquee. There’s also something for children, as they can enjoy the small fairground.

Mountain festival on the Rossbrand

The large mountain festival on the Rossbrand takes place every year with fantastic weather and the best views. After the mountain church service accompanied by music, it becomes a great mountain experience.
